Practices
Sufis describe seven stations (maqamat) of spiritual development:
1. Tawba (Repentance): Turning away from sin
2. Wara (Abstinence): Avoiding doubtful actions
3. Zuhd (Asceticism): Detachment from worldly desires
4. Faqr (Poverty): Spiritual poverty and dependence on God
5. Sabr (Patience): Enduring difficulties with faith
6. Tawakkul (Trust): Complete reliance on divine will
7. Rida (Contentment): Acceptance of God's decree
Each station purifies the soul and brings it closer to divine reality.
